Membership

Membership is open to laboratory technical staff (including retired technicians) in all levels of educational institutions in Victoria.

Membership is a calendar year – January 1st to December 31st regardless of when the membership fee is paid. LTAV membership belongs to you, the Lab Tech, not the school. If you leave your school you take your membership with you. LTAV membership is not transferable. More information about LTAV membership can be found here.

Membership is free for technicians in their first year as a technician in an educational setting. Click here to view the first year membership policy.

Membership benefits include:

    • Access to LTAV regional professional development sessions.
    • Four issues of Lablines per year.
    • Discounted Labcon registration.
    • Eligibility to join the LTAV committee.
    • Support of the ongoing Listserv operating costs.

Lablines is posted before the end of each term. The first issue is posted to all members from the previous year as a courtesy because membership payment isn’t due until April 30th and the first issue goes out before then. It is important to note that although membership payment can be made any time during the membership year, you may miss out on some issues of Lablines if you pay after April 30th.

Returning members:
Returning members need to fill in the Renewal of Membership form:
Online Renewal of Membership form or download the Renewal of Membership form and return to the Membership Officer via post or email.

New members:
New members need to fill in both an Application form and a Renewal of Membership form (see below).
The Renewal Form has important contact details so please fill one out if you are new or already a member.
Please make sure the address you write is the postal address you would like Lablines and any other correspondence sent to

Please send the new applicant form and payment details (excluding credit card payment) via email to membership@ltav.org.au.

Payment:
Registration is annual and membership cost is $55 (inc. GST).

Online registration and payment:
Credit card payment or invoice payment via bank transfer options are available when registering through the online Renewal of Membership form. The Tax Invoice will be emailed to the applicant upon submission of the form.

Registration and payment via email or post:
Bank transfer available when registering through the downloaded Renewal of Membership form. This form is also a Tax Invoice.

Send the completed Renewal of Membership form with a cheque or money order details to: LTAV, PO Box 4326, Croydon Hills, Vic 3136.
Please be aware that anything you post can have a delay of up to 6 weeks before the membership officer receives it.
